             What is       AIRFLOOR?

Airfloor is a system of hollow, interlocking metal forms and air registers that are placed on the building floor and then covered with a light concrete layer. The floor then becomes an avenue through which heating and cooling air flow, resulting in a radiant floor and ventilating system.

AIRFLOOR provides:

  • Uniform temperatures throughout your building.

  • Centralized zone heating, or heating of separate parts of a building via automatic controls.

  • Oil, gas or electric furnaces can be used with AIRFLOOR systems.

  • Modern controls make the AIRFLOOR system fully automatic.

  • Passive solar heat storage.

    How AIRFLOOR Operates
    1. Continuous air input at preset temperature is fed to AIRFLOOR plenum and it flows through the floor.

    2. The air flow creates a radiant heating or cooling of the floor surface.

    3. Air is then expelled at a relatively low velocity, in large volumes through outlet registers.
      4. Air circulates throughout entire area and blends with minor convection currents on floor surface.

    5. Finally, air passes out of the area through return air or relief registers.

AIRFLOOR heating is a permanent installation which lasts the lifetime of your building.
